Q: Unable to Boot to CD

Greetings.

 

I recently had to replace the hard drive in my 2012 iMac due to a catrastrophic failure of the original hard drive. Unfortunately, in doing so, I obviously have to do a complete reinstall of OS X. Unfortunately, when I try to do an internet recovery, I can get to the point where it wants me to install OS X 10.4, but given it was pulled from the App Store, I can't download it. Following this, I tried a 10.4 install DVD, which the system recognizes in Disk Utility, but fails to recognize when I try to either set it up as the boot disk or press C upon start up.

 

Any my ideas as to where I need to go next? Doing a clean install of an OS shouldn't be this difficult.
