Q: iPhone 6 Crashing When Getting Notification

Over the last few weeks my iPhone 6 has been crashing whenever I receive a notification and pull down the notification tab at the same time. This results in not being able to use any of the physical buttons on the phone or the touch screen working.

The only current work around to this is to log on to iCloud via my PC and erase my phone completely, then restore it from my last iCloud back up. This is causing a living **** for myself and any fix would be appreciated, at least until the new iPhone is released.

Thanks,

Paul

    Hello CubedMedia,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

I understand from your post that when you receive a notification and pull down the notification center your iPhone 6 freezes up and you cannot use the touchscreen or the physical buttons. I know how important it is for you to be able to use your iPhone seamlessly.  Erasing your iPhone from iCloud and restoring your iCloud backup is a good step to take. Because erasing the iPhone does not repair the software, I recommend restoring your iPhone and setting it up as new to test it. Restoring your iPhone will completely remove the software file that is installed on your iPhone and replace it with a new software file. If there is no issue when the iPhone is restored and set up as new, then restore your iCloud back up. If the issue returns, then the issue is saved in the back up file and you will want to restore and set up as new again. Then add your content manually.

This article has the steps necessary to restore your iPhone and set it up as new:

Use iTunes on your Mac or PC to restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings

    Best Regards

    Hi,

I've tried resetting as a new iPhone but the issue continues. It's happened at least 4 times over the last three days.

    Thanks

    Paul

    Hi CubedMedia,

If the issue persists after restoring your iPhone and setting it up as new that could indicate a hardware issue. I would recommend visiting an Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider in your area for further testing. You can use this link to locate one near you:
