Q: Updating Logic Pro

I have been running Logic Pro since 2010, and updated it in 2012, do I need to purchase it again to keep it current?

Which version are you using? There was no upgrade path from Logic 9 to pro X. However for a fraction of the cost of the disc based 9 the download X has a lot more to it and there have been free major upgrades since. For example the last upgrade included the Alchemy synth which retailed for more than the cost of Logic before Apple bought the developers. Hope that helps, Dimitri.

    thank you Drew,

yes I am running 9, so I am way overdue to update... It has indeed come down in price, so no big deal...

    HI Dimitri,

no problem, you'll find the interface a little different to begin with, but I have found it way more satisfying than LP9.

    good luck!

p.s. Apple have updated the GUIs for many of the plug-ins, and they're georgious!

Sorry, should have added that, since it isn't an upgrade in the software sense, you can have both versions running on the same machine.
