Q: Wi-Fi channel selection
I am using OS 10.11.6 in my condo where there are a many Wi-Fi connections to the same ISP. When my computer wakes up it takes a long time to find my user name among all the Wi-Fi channels detected by my machine. Can I lock my Wi-Fi connection only to my user name?

The various networks are tried in the order they appear, if you put yours at the top of the list it will be the first one to be tried.
To change the order: go to system preferences>network>advanced and drag the one you want to the top of the list.
