Q: PLEASE fix the map function for photobooks in Photos
Dear Apple folks -- Please please fix the map function for photobooks in Photos. I loved the functionality for maps in iPhoto, so why go to all the trouble of screwing it up so royally in Photos v1.5? Couple of random examples: instead of being able to type in a place name and having the program find the place for you, one now has to click the + sign, whereupon a red dot appears in a random location (like in the middle of the Tasman Sea), and one then has to move the red dot to the location one wants it in (after first having checked a different map to ascertain the correct location of the point you want -- say Port Douglas Australia for example). What a colossal waste of time! Or how about this: One takes an hour to set up the map just so, then closes the program. Upon next opening it, one finds the red dots have all migrated to odd locations around the map, bearing no resemblance to where they were originally placed. Again, a huge waste of time. And that's only two of many examples.
PLEASE, I beg you, bring back the functionality of maps in iPhoto!

1 - Apple is not here - this is strictly a user to user forum
2 - no one here can fix anything
3 - you certainly can type location names in with Photos -- from Photos help (a great place to look for help with Photos)
View and add information about photos
To view or change information for photos, you select one or more photos, then open the Info window.
- Edit any of the following.
- Title: Enter a name in the Title field.
- Description: Enter a caption in the Description field.
- Favorite: Click the Favorite button
to mark the photo as a favorite. Click the button again to unmark it.
- Keywords: Enter keywords in the Keywords field. As you type, Photos suggests keywords that you’ve used before. Press Enter when you’ve finished a keyword. To remove a keyword, select it and press Delete.
- Faces: Click
and type a name to identify a face. Click
multiple times and drag the face identifier over different faces to identify multiple faces in a photo.
- Location: Enter a location in the Location field. As you type, Photos suggests locations that you can choose. To change a location, you can search for a different location or change the location by dragging a pin on the map. To remove location information, delete it or choose Image > Location, then choose Remove Location or Revert to Original Location. You can’t assign a location if your computer is not connected to the Internet
4 - If you want to discuss Photos it is best to post in the Photos forum rather than the discontinued product iPhoto forum - I will request this be moved
5 - if you want to tell apple use the proper form - http://www.apple.com/feedback/photos.html
