Q: iPhone 6 opening links, apps and selecting content by itself despite updating to most recent iOS and soft resetting it many times

iPhone 6. Doing its own thing- opening apps, links, typing by itself and selecting its own thing when an app is opened. For example it will like things on social media, type and move about on text messages, shut down apps when I'm using them and make it difficult to do anything. I have updated to the phone to the most recent software and I have soft reset it many time. Any other options, ideas or advice ??

TIA

iPhone 6, iOS 9.3.5

    Hello jjj36,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

I understand from your post that your iPhone 6 is randomly opening apps, links, and typing. I know how important it is for your iPhone 6 to be working smoothly for you. If you have not already, I highly recommend creating a backup file. The following article provides the steps to create either an iTunes or iCloud backup:

How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Next, restore your iPhone using iTunes on a computer. Then set your iPhone up as new without restoring your back up file. If all is well, then restore your back up file. If you restore your back up file and the issues return, you will need to restore your iPhone a 2nd time and set it up as new. Then add your content back manually.

The steps to restore your iPhone and set it up as new are in this article:

Use iTunes on your Mac or PC to restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings

    Best Regards
