Q: No partition possible for reinstallation of El Capitan

I have major problems on both OS X and win 7 (imac 2009).

The computer is unusable, especially the keyboard. This follows an update to El Capitan a couple of weeks ago.

The computer does not boot with any keys (keyboard problems), the only start up disk available is bootcamp, but OS X and recovery disks are visible on win 7 in bootcamp console.

I tried reinstalling El Capitan but no disks are available for partition, so i'm blocked (needs to be GUID which I don't have).

I have saved all files and would really like to restore systems. However, the dvd is not working (ejects) for both OSX installation DVD or win 7 iso burnt dvd.

I'm wondering if the this is repairable ? Thanks in adavnce for any advice.

Your GPT is invalid, and your MBR is very much out of order. You need GPT Fdisk to correct this. Let me know once you have it installed, and I can provide the exact steps to correct this. It will also address your Windows issues.

I did that. When I boot i get the choice of disks, mac HD and windows, but no DVD shows up.

This is reliable media. When you burn the ISO, use the slowest rate, enable verify and mount after burn. You may waste one more DVD this way.

I burnt another DVD, slowly as possible. I didn't know that enable verify should be specified before burning, does this mean i need to do it again ?
Also, how do i mount after burning.
I don't mind wasting a few dvd's for the good cause, it's more the time it all takes, and if it will work in the end.

Right-click on the ISO and choose Burn. Expand the Burn pop-up, and enable verify and mount and choose the slowest rate. Just use one disc. Do not waste any more media.

I think I found the problem. Is an ISO a file with a picture of a hard disk ? If so, it does not appear on my DVD.

A ISO file has the same icon as a DVD. CDR files usually look like a disk icon. Right-click and click on Get Info to get details of the file and type.

Hello, I have sucessfully created ISO DVD and booted to windows + repair + bootrec etc.
Windows is now open and seems perfectly normal.
Do I try testing the booting Alt key from windows to OS X and vise versa ?

Excellent. Please try both the Alt/Option method and also the OS X System Preferences -> Startup Disk and Control Panel -> Bootcamp and verify.

Once you have verified, please back up OS X, Windows and create Windows System Restore point.

I can boot with Alt/option key as before.
The OS X prefernces system - start up disk shows only Mac HD OSX as the only disk available. Bootcamp disk is visible on my desktop.

Do you have any third-party NTFS software - for example - Tuxera, Paragon, MacDrive, NTFS-3g, etc., ? In Disk Utility, click on the Bootcamp volume and check the driver. The following is a standard configuration.

Yes, I have Paragon NTFS for Mac which is found in system preferences, the bootcamp disk is listed here. I have an option to disable Paragon.
However the bootcamp disk it is not listed on Disk Utility.
