Q: Please help, major syncing issues

All day, I've been attempting to download all my music on my computer to my iPhone.

I was having minor issues with my iPhone screen, so I reset the iPhone and lost all of my hard music (i.e. CDs, yes, I'm old). Previously, I would plug in my iPhone and it would sync. Now, nothing.

The downloads get stuck at one song or it stops at "(Step 5 of 5)" "Waiting for changes to be applied"

All of my music show up on my iPhone in grey, but I don't have the ability to play any of it (Item Not Available).

Another time, the system looked like it was updating saying "iTunes syncing" with a scrolling bar but didn't know if it was frozen or actually downloading anything.

I'm at my wits end. PLEASE HELP

The following steps may help with erratic syncing behaviour. They assume that all of the content you want on the device is in your library ready for restoring. If it isn't see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device first. I would also recommend you copy everything out of the camera roll if you haven't already.

    1. Backup device.
    2. Restore as a new device.
    3. Restore the backup you made earlier.

Use an encrypted backup if you want to preserve passwords, wi-fi settings, web history and health data where appropriate.
