Q: unhide el capitan software update

Hi

I accidently clicked hide the latest software update to El Capitan and can"t find anyway to unhide it.

One site said it should show up in app store menu but it"s not there.

Is there another way to get back the update please

To unhide items in the App Store, open the App Store.  Go to Store > View My Account from the App Store menu.  Click "Manage" near the "Hidden Items" row and unhide from there.

    I was able to get the update by doing the following.

    Search Internet for 'About the OS X El Capitan v10.11.3 Update'

    This got the me the following link/URL - https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT205356

    From this URL I found a link to download the update.

     

    Hope this helps

     

    I did this and was able to manually install 10.11.3. This update does not show it the APP store as being installed.'

     

    I tried the response below but couldn't find any area to hide updates. Maybe what I did above modified this.

    I hid the 10.11.4 update because it contained many bugs I can't handle, after that the system no longer prompts the 10.11.5 update! I followed above instruction but can't see the unhide option under "View My Account" page, nothing's there. I then tried to manually upgraded to 10.11.4 just to see if it prompts me of the 10.11.5 update, still nothing!

    Hi tgasc, I had the same issue and I just solved it! I accidentally hid the update for El Capitan 10.11.5 and was tearing my hear out trying to reveal it. I followed the above instruction and logged into my "View Account" from app store and the manage was not a button at all. Then i went back to my "app store" desktop app, the in the menu up the top of the screen, clicked the "Store" menu and down the bottom near "view my account" and "check for unfinished updates" was another link called something like "View all updates" or similar. Now that Ive  clicked it it has disappeared, but now my update is in the list for the latest OSX El Capitan. Hope that helps you.

    Thanks for your reply, but unfortunately I don't have that option called "View all updates" or anything under the "Store" menu. I guess you had that option because you didn't run manual update. It's unbelievable that now I'll never be able to get back to auto-update again, I tried everything I can.

    Thanks! This one worked for me.  Unlike the Apple recommended one above.
