Q: Maximum Full Charge Battery For New Replacement Battery

Hi,

I just Replace my Macbook Pro Battery and it cost me MYR870. But i feel the battery is just like old one. I am sending my mac to apple authorise dealer and they suggest me to replaced the battery. When i check the Power Information its indicate that my battery cycle was 0. But when i look through the macbook pro discussion, most of the maximum full charge value is more than 8600 to 9000 for new and decrease after a year or based on usage. In my case, mine maximum Total Charge is 7260. Is it normal or i need to go to Apple Authorise dealer again for complain. tq

Resetting SMC could solve the problem.
Reset the System Management Controller (SMC) on your Mac - Apple Support

I use CoconutBattery as the source for full battery charge information. Understand this information will vary from model to model and year to year.

You should also allow the battery to learn it capacity. There a battery parameter called Design Capacity that is not shown. There is a small micro controller in the battery that will adjust the numbers you are seeing Full Charge Capacity (FCC) and Remaining Charge (RC). The FCC can learn larger or smaller depending on the condition. After a few weeks of use that number may go up once the initial guess of capacity is adjusted to match the actual cells of your battery
