Q: createinstallmedia permissions
I'm trying to make an installer disk for el capitan. When I go to terminal, I get so far, but can't put my password in, because the permissions are wrong - I just get a padlock logo. So what permissions do I need to change please. It seems I only have custom access to terminal, and I can't change the permissions on that, because "The operation can’t be completed because you don’t have the necessary permission."
So how do I get the necessary permissions? Anybody know?
TIA
MacBook Pro, OS X El Capitan (10.11.2)

If you typed out the createinstallmedia command and then are asked for a password, note that the characters you type will not actually show up in the Terminal window, even as "•"s. So when you type the createinstallmedia command and hit return, enter your password even if you just see the padlock.
