Q: Hit return twice in Safari

My Safari seems to have become glitchy.

If I enter a search term in the bar, or hits link on a google list, it will load the address into the address bar and will then show the progress bar go about 3/4 of the way across the address bar before stopping.

I then have to either stop and reload the page or go into the address bar and place my cursor at the end of the address and hit return.

I have cleared the cache, restarted Safari, done a PRAM resent, restarted the computer, got a new modem.

Any ideas???
