Q: AMD Radeon HD 7950 iTunes HD

I've installed an AMD Radeon 7950 HD in my 2009 Mac Pro and I'm using a 30 inch Apple Cinema display. Now I can't watch any iTunes purchases in HD - I get a warning saying my display isn't compliant and then my computer freezes (I have to do a hard reset). I had no problems with the stock 512 card but wanted to beef up my VRAM to help while using Motion and FCP. Anybody have any ideas? Thanks in advance.

hmmm...funky problem..try zapping the pram and seeing if your cable is HDCP compliant, if you're using an HDMI cable, which I don't know, apparently everything in the chain has to be HDCP compliant, video card, cable and monitor, if not...here's some things you could try (like I've ever seen this problem before...)

-try restarting the mac/cycling power on the display

    -turn off screen sharing

-if you're sure your display is HDCP compatible, try changing to a slightly lower setting...

I don't know what model or year your 30 inch Apple Cinema Display is,  so I can't give you specific advice, but as per

what I mentioned before, everything has to be HDCP compliant or iTunes won't play stuff in HD

    -maybe iTunes needs an update?

I don't know if you're running El Capitan or not, so I can't really advise you there either

    well,. I tried

    good luck
