Q: Has anyone tried to post photos to Facebook to find the album title is wrong?

I am using the latest version of IOS on my IMac. After I take pictures on my IPhone, I import them into Photos and transfer them into a new blank album. Once they are in the new album and edited to my satisfaction, I share to Facebook.  When I review them on FB, it says that I just added pictures to a completely different album. This is very frustrating.  What am I doing wrong?

    Greetings RBeresh,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

I see that when you are sharing pictures from the Photos app to Facebook, it adds the pictures to a different album in Facebook. I share photo albums from Photos to Facebook too. So, I know how convenient this sharing option is. Let's see how we can get this working again.

Use the Photos Help guide to make sure you are following the exact steps to add to an existing album, specifically, this section:

Post photos to Facebook, Flickr, and Twitter

You can publish your photos and video clips directly from Photos to your Facebook, Flickr, or Twitter account.

Note: When you publish a Live Photo to Facebook, Flickr, or Twitter, the Live Photo is transferred as a still image only.

Publish your photos and video clips to Facebook

    1. Select the photos or video clips you want to post.

    2. Click the Share button Share button in the toolbar and choose Facebook.

If Photos asks you to log in to your Facebook account, type your user name and password, then click Sign In.

    3. In the Facebook dialog, choose options for the photos, and if you want, add a comment.

Add a comment: If you want, type a comment to accompany the photos.

    4. Click Post.

    Have a great day!

This is still broken. Choose an album in Photos, and Facebook (or Photos) add them to the wrong album. Leave apple feedback.

    Thanks for your response.

I found whats going wrong and hopefully this may help others.

Posting pictures is quite easy and I would get frustrated when they would go to the wrong album on FB. It was usually that last album I created on FB. Heres what I found out.

When posting pictures to FB, if you are uploading one picture to FB, it will be displayed on your timeline and depending on your share options it will be posted just on your timeline or for all to see on the FB Home page.

I found that if you plan on posting  more than one photo  from a new event after editing on a desktop, it is an album.  "More than one" is important to remember.   Follow these steps for posting more than one photo.

    • Login to FB and create a new album. Name it whatever you want
    • Go back to Photos and pick what pictures you would like to upload.
    • Select the upload icon to FB
    • You will now see a pulldown list with you newly created album name. Thats where you send your pictures to! Yahooooooo. It works.

The older Apple "IPhotos" did this for you by creating an album and enabled sending it to FB. This was one small bug that created a ton of frustration for me.
