Q: Connecting iPAD-2 to Win10

Hello, I was attempting to transfer content from my iPAD to a Win10 computer without using iTunes.

So I plugged the iPAD into the Win10 PC using the USB cable.  The PC then proceeded to install some Apple drivers but after that there was a continuous beeping sound coming from both my PC and the iPAD.

I rebooted both the iPAD and PC but got the same problem when plugging in again.

Did you receive any error messages on the W10 pc or the iPad? What are you trying to transfer? What else have you tried for troubleshooting?

You cannot transfer content without using iTunes.

No error message but on the iPAD I noticed a blinking message with the beep that it was trying to charge the I-PAD2.

I'm trying to transfer videos on the iPAD to my Win10 PC, without using iTunes, and I know you can do it because I saw this article:  Import photos and videos from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support.

Did you try running the Windows program (Movie Maker?) that is supposed to import the videos? You cannot browse the iOS file system as if it's a flash drive, so you'll need a program that knows how to communicate with the device.

What kind of videos are they? If they are videos shot by your iPad and residing in your camera roll folder then you can use windows explorer to transfer the files.  When you hook it up you will see the option on the iPad to trust the computer, tell it yes, and then you can use Windows explorer to navigate to the DCIM folder and pull the files off.

If the files are anywhere else on your iPad you cannot access them via window explorer. I have a win 10 computer, iPad 2 and mini 4 and touch 6 and all Windows explorer will see is the DCIM folder.

You could try to use Dropbox as an intermediary, upload your files from the 2 via the service, then download them onto your new ipad.

If these videos are movies or content from a service then you may not be able to transfer them.
