Q: Getting screen showing 403 forbidden when trying to access various websites

I occasionally get the message 403 forbidden when accessing websites there is no logical reason why it happens with some sites and not others is there a solution.

I see there is a fix for windows based systems but unable to find one for mac.

iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10.2)

From W3 dot org HTTP/1.1 Status Code Definitions. Contact the web server administrator.

    10.4.4 403 Forbidden

The server understood the request, but is refusing to fulfill it. Authorization will not help and the request SHOULD NOT be repeated. If the request method was not HEAD and the server wishes to make public why the request has not been fulfilled, it SHOULD describe the reason for the refusal in the entity. If the server does not wish to make this information available to the client, the status code 404 (Not Found) can be used instead.

Clearing the cache does nothing. It happens now constantly for Blackboard and WebAdvisor apps. My college says Apple changed something. Any ideas? Any other browser options for iPads yet? I got this thing to teach from and can't access anything from my college this semester.

You might want to start your own post since this one is from last year. A new post would be much more visible. You can link to this one. If your post is an iPad question, post in the iPad forum.

Check the iTunes Store for browser options.
