Q: IBook G4 Refusing to turn on.

Hello, I have a ibook g4. Yesterday i put ddr2 RAM Into a DDR Socket. I Turned the computer on after installing the ram and the screen was off but the backlight was still on like looking at a picture that was all black. So i turned it off because the computer wouldn't go past that. I turned it on again without the RAM Being inside it and i didn't boot at all. The battery had a full 4 lights and the charger had a green light on it. It's makes no sound at all. no fans NOTHING. I just got this computer yesterday for school. I have no other computer for school.(Im typing this from a IPhone.)And i don't feel like missing a few days of school because i have no computer. Please help me. I don't get paid until next friday and i cannot miss 2 weeks of school.

iBook, Mac OS X (10.4.11), 256 MB Of RAM.

    G4 ibook motherboard fault. There is a problem with the logic board in the Mac-

    intosh G4 ibooks. It can appear after a year or more in some machines


    A fair running iBook G3 or G4  (snow/white) may run just fine; then

    without any outward sign, start acting up; certain items point to the

    problematic logic board problem. Primarily the solder joint issue.


    {For better serviceability your efforts may be better spent looking into

    a 'MacBook 13-inch' early model era, circa 2006~2010; a clean one

    with an original install DVD (or retail Snow Leopard 10.6.3 DVD, etc)

    may be available at reasonable cost. Or sometimes very cheap...)


    Most portables will require a battery; otherwise their processors drag

    when run on AC power only. Also MacBook batteries may expand to

    damage the keyboard/trackpad, so if you check into one, read for details.


    Sorry to be of no help when you need a working computer for school

    and have found this one that you recently bought, needs a major repair.
