Q: How to restart WiFi without shutdown

A faulty WiFi flex cable causes the WiFi on my 13' mid 2012 Macbook Pro to stop working. A shutdown and restart will restore normal WiFi operation. Once the WiFi stops working, it no longer responds to the Network Manager in System Preferences. Can I reload WiFi from the terminal and avoid having to shutdown. Ultimately I will replace the faulty cable, but until then ....
