Sep 4, 2016 1:15 PM in response to bcoineby RIFerrarr,You will need to do what you are attempting from your Mac and not from your iPad. Are you using the Epson iOS app or are you trying to print from a different app?

Sep 4, 2016 1:35 PM in response to bcoineby sberman,Assuming you are trying to print from a Mac and not an iPad (as it would not be possible to do this from an iOS device):
It is all documented on Epson's website.
First, if you have not done so already, visit this page:
... and download the Epson Print CD file:
Next, from the Epson XP-839 Manual (available here):
https://files.support.epson.com/docid/cpd4/cpd42851.pdf
... see page 287 for instructions how to use the Print CD application:

Sep 4, 2016 3:49 PM in response to sbermanby bcoine,While I truly appreciate your effort, this does not solve the problem.
1) I already downloaded the Print CD software as part of the install
2) This is my fourth Epson printer with Print CD software, so I am more-or-less an expert at creating the files
3) When I click on the print, I get this dialogue box to select a printer.
At the TOP it says, SELECT PRINTER ... so I do ... I select my printer

Then, When I click on OK, I get this
THIS is the problem. I won't let me print.
It sys that I'm connected via AirPrint.
And it wants me to print from the drivers supplied by Epson.
I HAVE ALREADY DOWNLOADED ALL THE DRIVERS.
It seem that this **** AirPrint is screwing up the works.
Maybe this explanation helps.

Sep 4, 2016 4:14 PM in response to bcoineby sberman,Two ways to proceed come to mind:
- If it's feasible in your situation, consider using a USB connection to connect your printer directly to your Mac, thereby removing the "wireless" component. This would take AirPrint out of the equation.
- If you have not done so already, download and install Epson's Drivers and Utilities Combo Package Installer from the website where the Print CD software is offered.

Sep 4, 2016 5:28 PM in response to sbermanby bcoine,Thanks so much.
Actually, I have connected the printer to the iMac using USB - not wireless.
And I have downloaded & installed the combo package, but it did not correct the problem
This is a real "poser."

Yes it is.
I've used an Epson printer (currently an Epson WorkForce 645) with Macs and iOS devices for a long time, always successfully. I've done prints (including double sided), scans, faxes, and AirPrint from iOS. But I certainly have never tried an operation like CD Print.
Sorry I'm out of ideas. Best of luck with this!

Sep 4, 2016 8:22 PM in response to sbermanby bcoine,Thanks for all the ideas. No idea why nothing works. It's strange .... all other applications (Photoshop, In-Design, Office, et al) all work fine. It's just Epson's own Print CD that doesn't. It's somehow tied to AirPrint ... but I have no idea how to circumvent it. I will call Epson on Tuesday and see if they can help. Thanks, again, to everyone.
