As spiritofdiscovery said, "due diligence" on the part of the poster can go a long way to expedite things
- search "People" page for desired username
- post that name in the request
- we report that fact to our gracious Hosts
- Hosts do a quick verify
- BINGO! no muss, no fuss
- Hosts award AR to reporter
- done deal

Following previous posts, I would also like to request a change in my community username to "Charlie R". As noted, I've searched for this username on the people page and it is not being used.

Charlie R finds no matches
when one substitutes that string into a URL that would show the username UNused (a not found page), we find Charlie R IS in fact taken - as is several variants of it using punctuation and special characters allowed

I suggest that you might play around with the URL instead of relying on the (obviously UNreliable) people page until you find something you can live with
It may be that our gracious Hosts will contact you via email later rather than sooner since it is a holiday weekend. You could be ready with a 2nd choice when they do.
