Q: drag and drop thumbnails to order them and then to rename them

I don't find an easy way to order my photos and to rename them. I experienced that in windows and it was easy to drag and drop the thumbnails in the order i look for and then to rename the files to respect this manual order.

In photos you can do that but no way to rename the files by batch. I have Better Rename 9 for all rename possibilities (it is awesome) but the drag and drop file possibility is not available with thumbnails.

Thank you for your help.

In a user album you can drag to create a custom order

You can not manually order system albums

You can not change file names (any change like that must be done prior to import ad no changes can be made to the content or structure of the photos library manually)

YOu can assign a title to a photo in Photos

You probably need to read the Photos help file and overview and maybe take a class - Photos is a totally different Paradigm  where you manage photos virtually using a SQLite database - you do not manage the files at all

Do you want to batch change the titles of the photos below the thumbnails or the filenames of the imported original files?

And we are back to hidden posts.  Worse than ever. Your post - 12 hours old - did not show until I posted. I hope yesterdays maintenance did not cause this.

In fact i read a lot about Photos but i need to order my files (photo) to use them with windows OS. As i explained, to rename them by batch is not an issue.

First sorry for my late feedback. Thanks Leonie for your explanations but to rename them i have a solution with Better Rename 9 app (highly recommended even by apple). LarryLN provided me also an advice with Photos but i can't rename them by batch. It seems not possible to answer to my request with Photos and it is why i am looking for another solution. I can do that with windows (i changed to IOS 1 year ago ... my photograph friends pushed me to use it instead windows and their different issues ...) but i prefer to find a solution through IOS. Again thanks for your help.
