Q: Sender always ends up in junk mail

Hi guys,

One sender (a shop I often order things from) always ends up in my junk mail folder. I've tried adding the email as my contact, or using the advanced junk-filter options, but it still ends up there.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

The settings of my junk mail box (sorry it's in dutch):

Schermafbeelding 2016-09-02 om 15.14.41.png

Summary: All the rules have to be applied (so 'all', not 'one of the following' must apply):

Sender isn't in recipients list; Sender isn't in my contacts; Sender is junk mail; 'From' doesn't contain '@bol.com'.

The next tasks have to be done: Move message to junk mail; Mark as read;.

The mark as read doesn't work as well. I've tried switching the tasks, but it just switches back, so that the message is first moved and then marked as read (but it doesn't work).

Anyone know how to fix this?

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X El Capitan (10.11.4), 3,1 GHz i7; 16GB; Iris 6100 1536mb;

Your screenshot looks strange. The Junk Mail header is selected, but what we see below is a Rule...

When I click the Junk Mail header I see a totally different thing. I believe this is where you should have this set - in particular the checkbox for "Sender is in my Contacts" should be checked.

Ok, I think I see what you are doing. You have selected "Perform custom actions" and are showing the result of clicking the Advanced button.

The thing is that this is merely a rule that is applied when one or all (in this case, all) of the conditions are met. It does not preclude other rules or other messages being considered junk mail.

OK, but how do I prevent this sender going to junk? Because payment is sometimes through a link in the mail, and I'd miss that mail if I didn't check my junk folder daily..

These are the normal junk options, just checked the 'filter junk before applying rules', so hopefully that works.

If your mail provider is labeling those messages as junk, then "Trust junk mail headers in messages" will have this effect.

Try unchecking this box (next to last) and see if the problem goes away.

The filtering is still wrong, the sender is still going into the junk box, and all the junk messages aren't marked as read..

Try using a rule in Mail/Preferences/Rules. Sample below.

    Hey

I'm sorry if I've misunderstood, however, I believe there's a quick fix for your issue.

Jump into your Junk mailbox, right click on one of the emails from the sender you wish to no longer have go to your junk mail automatically and simply navigate down to 'Move' then select "As Not Junk Mail". This should hopefully fix your current issue.

Hope that done the trick mate!

    Already have. Isn't working unfortunately..

@Lexiepex: Heb geen ziggo email adres, maar een apple of microsoft email adres (@me, @live, @hotmail). Bol.com stuurt naar mijn @live.nl adres.

I don't have that option: Can only move to one of my folders or inboxes. There isn't a 'as not junk mail' option, not even in the 'mark as' option. I have got that option on the top right side of the email, but already marked 'as not junk mail', but it isn't helping.

This is the junk email folder by the way:

The email address does not have to do with your provider: who is bringing the cable in and ask money for it every month?

    But aside:

When don't want or cannot set anything in the provider, a rule must do it:

    Monosnap 2016-09-08 13-35-34.jpg

set the action "inbox" to whatever you want, inbox will cover all.

If you want done more than just this, you can also add a color if you want:
