Q: Eject this DVD-R from my Macbook pro!

I burned some pics from my PC to transfer on to my macbook pro. The DVD-R won't read but also I cannot eject it!! I've tried ALL your tricks (forums, internet), and more.....what can I do?

    Hold the Command and S keys while your MacBook Pro is starting, and type:

     

    drutil eject

    exit

     

    If this doesn't work, your disc drive is damaged. Take it to an Apple Store to get your DVD drive replaced, or buy an external DVD drive, which is cheaper

    This works! I have a macbook with no internal drive, so I connected an external apple dvd drive to import an old music CD. After importing the music, clicking eject in the Finder or iTunes causes the drive to make motor noises, then ask if I wanted to import the music again (the CD stayed in). Type the "drutil eject" at the terminal prompt ejected without any drama
