Of course not since there are no events in Photos

Are you talking about an album named after an iPhoto event? If you are then you delete it the same as any album - right click on the album and select delete album

on my "Photos" left side, it still has iPhoto and events under it. I can't seem to delete them. I reinstalled iPhoto but had to stop using it as it is not compatible with iPhones. But regardless, it's still shows up on Photos and I can't delete it.

I, if you haven't guessed, am not an expert at this as some of you,, Sorry.

Are you talking about an album named after an iPhoto event?

    I believe you are

    Then as I posted

If you are then you delete it the same as any album - right click on the album and select delete album

An album names for and event is still an album and you still delete it the same as any album - right click on it and select delete album

If that does not work then you need to provide details - "it does not work" can not be solved, we need to know exactly what you have, what you are doing and what happens to help - telling us something does not work gives us no clue as to what the problem is

I don't know what or how else to describe it but,, on my "Photos" left side, it still has iPhoto and events under it.

    All Photos

    Faces

    Selfies

    iPhoto Events

then the 2 events with no photos in them I want to trash.

I can't seem to delete them. I reinstalled iPhoto but had to stop using it as it is not compatible with iPhones. I deleted everything I can find with iPhoto. But,,,, it still shows up on Photo as described.

You cannot delete the automatically created smart albums "All Photos, Faces, Selfies".

iPhoto Events is a folder, and inside may be more nested folders or albums.

To delete a folder ctrl-click or right-click it in  the sidebar and select "Delete folder".

No, still didn't work. Looks like this. At that time, I named those Events W and Z. I can't figure out how to delete the whole iPhoto Event folder. This is what it looks like with a couple photos next to it.

As your screenshot is showing,   the albums "W" and "Z" are not in the iPhoto Events folder. The iPhoto Events folder is still closed - the disclosure triangle is pointing to the right and not down. To delete potential albums in that folder click the triangle to the left of "iPhoto Events" to open the folder.

Again, no matter what I click, it doesn't delete the folder, or the title iPhoto Events.

I don't seem to get this one and I'm sorry for that but it happens.

I do appreciate the responses. There must be a glitch as a few photos in the regular albums are turned 90 degrees one way or the other. Strange!

How are you clicking? You need a right-click or a ctrl-click. Select the folder or album in the side bar and hold down the ctrl-key while clicking (or click with the right mouse button, if your mouse has more than one button). This should show the contextual menu with the delete command for the album or the folder. Then select the delete command from the menu.

I know how stupid this sounds and again I am sorry. I finally got it. I was able to delete it on my iPhone. All share on iCloud, and when I went back to my imac, it was fixed. I need to check my MacBook Air and hopefully it will be gone there to.

The problem with some of the pics, I have about 6 K , being 90degrees off one way or another has even stumped apple support was they said they would investigate it, open a ticket and get back to me. It has been a month and still no reply. I continue to fix them one at a time be rotating them in the image view. Thank you all very much for your help!  I can't tell you how much I hate Photo app. iPhoto was much better. Now in Photo, the dates are all screwed up along with the other problems.

Like all new software you have to learn how to use Photos - it is new and different and has a learning curve - once you learn it is it is much more capable than iPhoto

I continue to fix them one at a time be rotating them in the image view.

You can select several images at once to rotate them. if there is a continous range of photos that need rotating, click the first photo, then hold down the shift key and scroll to the last photo of the range. Now enter the key combination ⌘R to rotate counterclockwise, or ⌥⌘R to rotate all selected photos clockwise.

To select photos, that are not contiguous, hold down the command key while you click the individual photos to select them.

Yes, that's what I'v been doing but when you have so many it takes awhile. I would just like to know why some are doing this. Very strange. I can not find a pattern. Thanks for the help!
