Q: Evernote Web Clipper no longer works

I have used Evernote Web Clipper for a long time but today it stopped working and there is a black dot immediately below the elephant figure in the Evernote Web Clipper icon on the Safari toolbar.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the extension including rebooting Safari. I also tried this and rebooting my MBP.

It still does not work.

I use OS X El Capitan 10.11.16 with Safari 9.1.3 (11601.7.8), Evernote Web Clipper 6.9 and Evernote Premium 6.8 (453748 Direct).

Any suggestions?

Web Clipper is downloaded directly from Evernote's website, so there's nothing for Apple to approve.

There are several discussions in the Evernote Web Clipper forum (covering several years up to recent days) about it suddenly not working. Following is one discussion and from glancing at it there may be a number of different causes. As it turns out, Evernote has prepared a new version of Web Clipper and submitted it for review (to Apple?) in late August and they expect it to be approved so. Hopefully, this will fix the problem.

It would have to get approved to be listed on Apple's extension page - Safari/Safari Extensions.
