Q: I can't download apps on my iPhone 4

I can't download apps on iPhone 4 with iOS 7 without getting asked payment information, even for free apps. Can someone help?

Well, since you do not indicate what happens when you try, an answer at this point is not possible. What happens when you attempt to download apps on your iPhone 4?

I can download apps for my iPhone 4. But, of course, many newer apps are not compatible with iOS 7.1.2, so I cannot download them. (Well, I can download them to iTunes, but they will not install onto the iPhone 4.)

You can take a look at this support document, Install an app on an earlier version of iOS or OS X - Apple Support and see if there are compatible versions for the app that you were interested in.
