Q: itunes did not install.

I downloaded itunes to my Win 7 laptop, but it did not install. I am unable to locate the installer file on my laptop. The Website will not allow me to download itunes again. How do I locate and run the itunes installer?

    Did you download it here?

    I don't know why the website would prevent another download.  Try refreshing the web page showing the download.  It's possible your web browser has some feature that prevents downloading the same item again.

     

    In your web browser (whatever you are using), there should be a list of recent downloads.  Usually, you can right-click on an item that was downloaded, and choose to show that downloaded file in your file manager.

    Yes - that is the site for the download.

    I clicked on install because that was the only option shown besides cancel.

    The installer never appeared on my screen.

    A search of all files modified at the time only showed a dat file from RelevantKnowledge - no itunes installer.

    A search of my entire drive did not show anything related to itunes.

    I used Firefox for the download attempt. After the attempt I saw a thanks for downloading itunes screen. I tried to download twice more. As soon as I clicked download, the screen cycled to the thanks for downloading itunes screen.

    The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach.

     

    Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.

     

    The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with third party software.

     

     

     

    Your library and device backups should be unaffected by these steps but there are links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.
