Q: File Transfer Issue Between 10.4.11 + Android 4.4 phone
Hi there.
I recently got a Polaroid Link 6" A6WH smartphone, running Google Android KitKat 4.4, and despite being told from Polaroid that I should be able to transfer files (ie. photos, music, videos) between this phone and a PowerBook G4 Aluminum running OS 10.4.11 (old, yes, I know!), I cannot. I was told I would have to download Android File Transfer, which I did, but it didn't work (it only works with OS 10.5). Android File Transfer is Version 1.0 –I don't think there would be any prior versions.
I tried searching on this discussion board and elsewhere online, some have suggested other programs, such as AirDroid, but when I tried to download them, they would not work with OS 10.4.11.
I have only been able to transfer files via a Bluetooth connection –and only from the computer (and not the other way around). The USB cable that came with the phone does not seem to work (either way) without a program to facilitate it.
Any suggestions for transferring files (ie. photos, music, videos) between these devices –via USB, or even just via Bluetooth, back from the phone to the computer?
Also, are there any programs available to convert video files to MP4 format, as I cannot get the phone to open any other format –BTW, free is better!)
Note: I would have gotten an iPhone, except for the fact that we were trying to get rid of some AirMiles points that were about to expire, and they didn't have one!
Thanks
PowerBook, Mac OS X (10.4.11), Android 4.4
