Is the disk ever replaced? I suppose not. Thus the cable as cause is extremely unlikely.

But it is not a bad contact here, the issues you describe are exactly those of a dying, almost dead, disk.

Don't wait a second and make backups.

Then prepare yourself to have the disk replaced.

Thanks . Will do that . It's just I was trying to be sure if it's hard disk problem. So that I can only change the hard disk instead of taking it to the Mac service centre who is charging double the amount and who does not have the SSD in stock right now

Senorita, how old is the Mac? The modern Macs are very difficult to do yourself. And there are several different measures:

The "old" ones Sata, 2.5", that's easy. The modern ones have a different shape and connector.

If you do a SSD inside, format it first; GUID Partition Table, Mac OS X Extended (journaled). Even with so called "prepared for Mac" or "Mac ready". Do not instal Trim with a third party app or with the Command line commands: it does not help, and it is possible that the Trim command interferes with the Disk Controller (GarbageCollection/WearLevelling).

    happy computing,

    Lex

It's a mid 2012 MacBook pro. After seeing some videos I thought it was quite easy. The store was ready to fix the new hard disk ( that is opening the screws etc ). Then I thought I could simply format it and then install the OS from external hard disk .

It's all good. But the only risk is even after replacing the hard disk , the problem continues.

See as per the attached video below, it says it can be either the problem of faulty cable , bad hard disk or bad motherboard.

Thank you every 1. Have finally submitted my laptop to Apple service centre. They have diagnosed the problem and have concluded that the problem was because of the flex cable and my hard disk is fine. They will be replacing the flex cable.

But I still wonder if it's possible to get so many circle of deaths just because of faulty flex cable ?
