Q: How do I find my battery cycles? I have a MacBook Pro running windows on Bootcamp.

I have a MacBook Pro, running Windows 7 in Bootcamp. My battery indicator says I should consider replacing my battery. How do I 1) find out how many cycles my current battery has on it, and 2) find out what battery I should be looking for to replace it with?

I have found system hardware, but it only shows Windows information, which did not include battery cycles.

Go back to the Mac side and look in the System Report (accessed via About This Mac) on the Apple menu

    Hello Kailab,

If you still have macOS installed switch to it (power off your computer and hold "X" while starting up). When logged in you should see the Apple logo in the top left corner. Hold "option" (or "alt" on some keyboards) and click it. While still holding "option" click on "System Information...". On the sidebar of the window that popped up you should see an item called "Power"; click on that. There should be a "Battery Information" heading. Under that is a "Battery Health" heading with the number of battery cycles and the battery health. More information about that here: Determining battery cycle count for Mac notebooks - Apple Support

To replace your battery contact and Apple Authorized Service Provider as detailed in this article: About Mac notebook batteries - Apple Support

If one of these steps does not work, please reply and I will do my best to help.

    Thanks ~ Bryce
