Q: Half of my screen is off color and resolution.

My 2012 Macbook Air has exactly half of the screen with missing color and resolution. It did pop back into correct color and resolution, but popped back into the problem. Any clues as to the cause and solution?

MacBook Air (11-inch Mid 2012), OS X El Capitan (10.11)

I suggest a NVRAM reset:

If no success, make an appointment at an Apple store genius bar for a FREE evaluation.

After a diagnostics test at the Genius Bar, it was determined it was a bad video card.
