Q: re format ntfs drive?
Hi All,
I've found a 320gb NTFS drive usb3 "Bipra' brand on amazon for £24. Sounds great as all the the rest and mac formatted ones are either double that price or usb2 only. They get good reviews as they seem to contain Seagate drives. Can I get this one and just re-format it? That would save me quite a few quid. As macs cannot read NTFS (apparantly) can they still re-format them?

Mac's can read NTFS drives but can't, without third party software, write to them. Yes, you can use disk utility to reformat the drive as Mac OS Extended Journaled. If you intend for the drive to be bootable by OS X you'll also need to partition it (one partition is fine) using the GUID partition scheme.
