Q: Q: Are you sure you want to shut down your computer now? Message

I Have an older macbook Air and I have researcherd this problem and it is usually the power button sticking from what I've found. Well my comp is doing the same thing but if I keep my finger on the mouse pad the msg never pops up. My comp will stay on for hours as long as I keep moving my finger on the mouse pad. I know this because I recently updated to the new iOS and had to keep my finger moving the whole entire time or the msg would pop up n my comp would shut down. Another unique thing about my Mac air is that the power button still works. I can turn the comp on and off with the button every time. And when the computer is on if I haven't seen the msg yet and press the power button I hear a chime like the computer sees me pressing the power button. Has anybody had this issue with any luck fixing it?

Yes I found both of these when I was searching for info to my problem and tried both of them. Another thing I forgot to mention is that I also thought it might have been the battery so I ordered a new battery and tried that and it didn't work either. Now something that is kinda weird or more weird with this comp is that earlier when I picked it up n opened it it turned on its own when I opened the screen. It also turns on as soon as I plug the charger into it. And this is a brand new mag safe charger I bought also. It's like the computer is getting a command in the operating system to shut down. I got this from a friend a while back and it only has a 60 gig harddrive and I noticed that it was 90% full but I can't seem to find where any of the stuff filling the HD is. When I installed the new iOS I thought it was going to wipe the HD clean but just noticed it didn't. Do u know how I can do that?

On the back of the MBA is the serial number.  Enter it here and post back the EXACT model/year information:
