Q: iMac won't read ISO disks
I'm using an iMac mid 2011 and i've decided to install windows via bootcamp again as i had to wipe my HDD. When i insert an ISO that i burnt using the windows media creation tool on a windows machine the mac thinks it's empty.
Here's the strange part, the iMac can read CDs and DVDs without any issues. When i use an external optical drive the iMac recognises the ISO and it lets me proceed to install windows.... However macs cannot boot an OS from an external optical drive unless it's an apple superdrive which i do not own. I ran some hardware diagnostics on my iMac and everything seems to be working fine.
Does anyone know what could be wrong here because i'm truly stumped
