Q: Importing "Favorite" Photos
Hello All,
I am a longtime iPhone user, but never really used the "favorites" function for photos. As a recent first time parent, I have been on a favoriting spree!
I was under the impression that when I mark something as favorite, it would not delete. I recently was running out of space, and decided to transfer, but wanted to keep ones I marked as favorite.
Low and behold, all photos are off the phone. I didn't lose them, they are on my computer, but I would've liked to have kept some on the phone.
Do photos marked "favorite" delete with the rest once transferred in "photos" on the Mac? Thanks in advance!

Yes, unless you choose to keep them on the device after importing them. That would however, keep all of the photos on the device which would defeat the purpose of trying to free up space.
Marking them as favorites simply creates an iOS device only album for organization on the device itself. That album doesn't actually contain a copy of the photo - just a shortcut to the photos - so importing them and them deleting them, removes them from the favorites album as well as the camera roll.
Create an album of favorites in the Photos app, place the photos in that album, and then sync them back to the phone.
