iPad

Q: iPad keeps crashing/restarting

My 32GB 3rd generation iPad (running iOS 9.3.4) restarts every time it is plugged into an electrical source for more than 5 minutes, despite battery being in seemingly good shape. In addition, the iPad usually freezes after about 10-15 minutes of usage, forcing me to do a hard reset each time. This has been occurring for quite some time but I'm not really sure how to go about fixing it, so if anyone knows a solution or knows if Apple will repair/replace, please let me know. Thanks!

    Try holding down the Home and Wake/Sleep buttons at the same time for about 15 seconds until the Apple logo appears. You will not lose anything.

     

    If a restart does not help try a System Restore. First backup your device using iTunes. Also import your photos to your computer and copy all important data if possible. Try restoring from backup first and testing it. If it does not help, you may have to restore as New and reconfigure from scratch as the backup could be corrupted. For this reason it is important to have your photos and data saved separately from the backup. Here are the steps for a Restore:

    If the above steps do not help, you may have to have it tested at an Apple store.

    After a Reset, the next troubleshooting step would be to Restore tomorrow Backup, then Restore as New. To find out if it's a hardware issue, you'll have to take to an Apple Store. Make a Genius appointments and a backup first.
