Q: Automatic updates

With some of the smaller iPhones, the automatic update window confirm/later floats partially off screen, and someone trying to clear the clutter may accidentally request the update be done.   Is there any way to manually switch off iOS update notifications permanently?

iMac, OS X El Capitan (10.11.2), * I may get paid from macmaps links

There is no built in method to disable update notifications for iOS devices.

You'd need to look at an MDM solution, or perhaps blocking Apple's update domains on your network:

    appldnld.apple.com

    mesu.apple.com

Obviously, the latter should be deployed carefully.

Thank you.   My only wish is that when I was on public WiFi I could prevent it from being accessed.  I guess there is no way to do that?   Also, unfortunately I've had issues tampering with my Verizon FiOS firewall.  I may have to see if Verizon is willing to help me block it.
