Q: Can't copy purchased songs from iPod to MacPro
I still use a classic iPod for mobile music as it holds 120GB (try THAT iPhone!) My MacPro tower does not have a disc reader, so I need to use my MacBook Pro to transfer songs from a (purchased) CD to iTunes. I have a new CD album on the iPod (transferred from the laptop). I used to be able to drag songs from the iPod to the iTunes Music library on the MacPro. But now when iPod is is selected, I can find no destination to drag songs to (from the iPod), or option to import. This is a CD that I PURCHASED directly from the artist.
Perhaps I should make the transfer from the MacBook to the MacPro, but I would like to maintain the previous functionality from the iPod (which has content that pre-dates the MacPro). And I prefer NOT to use iCloud as I have heard of instances where legally purchased non-iTunes content was deleted by iCloud.
It often seems that with each new "update" to iTunes, the interface becomes less intuitive, and more cumbersome. Apple seems to have their vision of how I should interact with the OS, and that seems to offer fewer options as they continue to refine & simplify the OS. Why should I be restricted on how I store legally purchased content? Rant over.
Thanks for the solution to this
