Q: song list repositions

Toshiba Satellite i7, 6GB/1TB, Win 10

iTunes 12.4.3.1

When I am within My Music/Songs or within a playlist and I play 2 or more songs, which get added to the Up Next list, and I then continue to scroll thru my music (42K songs) when it goes on to play the next song it will position the view to that song and I will lose my place within my scrolling activity.

Is there any way to prevent it from re-positioning to the actively playing song so that I don't lose my place within the music that I am scrolling in?

I have looked in settings and in help and I could not find anything that would relate to this.

Thanks,

iPod classic 160GB (Late 2009), Windows 7

If you start playback in say the main Music list you can switch to another playlist that contains the songs you're interested in choosing from. This list won't jump around each time the current playing track changes.

Helpful suggestion... and it will work that way if you start out in main Music list... but won't work the other way around when starting in a playlist then moving to the main Music list... which is really the way I would like to use it. Thanks for the suggestion, we learned something new today.

Either way works. Just start playback from one list and then browse in another.
