Q: External Dell screen stopped after graphic cards replacement

How to reinstall external Dell monitor to display from my 2011 MacBook Pro 17? Monitor stopped recognizing the computer after Apple Store replaced graphics card.

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

    a) check and reconnect your adapter and adapter cable going to the LCD

     

    b) select another resolution from the displays control panel by holding down OPTION when you click "scaled"

     

    c) reset the monitor to factory conditions using the monitor control panel.

     

    try another LCD, or another cable or both.

     

    if after you try this you get no external video contact Apple and let them know your replacement GPU may be defective.
