Q: Macbook pro freezes when going to iCloud in Safari

I have a brand new MacBook Pro (early 2015) with latest updates of El Capitan 10.11.6. When after sleep I go to an open tab in Safari with my iCalendar the whole macbook freezes - mouse is active but nothing else. I've got an excerpt from the logs if it helps.

Hello alex_imac_owner,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

I understand from your post that your MacBook Pro freezes after waking it from sleep mode. I know how important it is for your MacBook Pro to run smoothly for you. I recommend first restarting your Mac into Safe Mode and testing it then restarting it as normal and testing it again.
Try safe mode if your Mac doesn't finish starting up
Starting up in safe mode
Follow these steps to start up into safe mode.
Start or restart your Mac.
Immediately after you hear the startup sound, press and hold the Shift key.
Release the Shift key when you see the Apple logo appear on the screen.

Hello Alex,
I would recommend trying safe mode as Alwayswantingtohelp1 (Re: Macbook Pro freezes when going to iCloud in Safari) recommended. After that try reinstalling macOS. Doing that will not destroy any of your data and should not have much of an effect for most users. To reinstall, go to the following support page (How to reinstall OS X - Apple Support) and scroll to "If you're reinstalling for other reasons" and don't erase your hard drive.
