Q: Is "com.historiograph.plist" something that people are familiar with? It was created at the same I accidentally downloaded MacKeeper

Using horrible judgement, I downloaded something that turned out to just be another way for MacKeeper to run amuck.  I did turn on my firewall before downloading anything and I am glad that I did because some weird things happened.  Chrome quit unexpectedly without even reporting that it quit unexpectedly.  I also got a message asking to allow connections from the application "historiograph".  After doing what I thought was a good uninstall of MacKeeper, I found this "com.historiograph.plist" in Main > Library > LaunchDaemons with the same created time as MacKeeper.  Furthermore, there were two other .plists created at the exact same time com.lymphangiotomyUpd.plist and com.apple.sideb.plist

Does any of this look normal or am I just being paranoid?

MacBook Pro (13-inch Mid 2009), OS X El Capitan (10.11.5)

    Hello That_One_Guy,

Historiograph is not a known deamon so I cannot tell you if it is harmful. It is not part of any Apple Software so deleting it will not cause problems with any Apple software. It is possible it comes with other software on your Mac that you would like to keep and could cause problems with that. It is also possible that the software that created it will recreate it when you delete it. To remove it I would recommend starting in safe mode (Startup key combinations for Mac - Apple Support) and then removing it to make sure the deamon is not running when removed.

If that does not work or you have any more questions feel free to ask me.

    Thanks ~ Bryce
