Sep 6, 2016 9:03 PM in response to Ferd IIby linda2009,Here's the article about it: http://osxdaily.com/2014/08/11/print-files-from-desktop-mac/
OS Daily usually has good tips.

According to the comments in that article: The only caveat is that it will use the default settings, which for an image usually means filling the page. That can be overkill if you’re printing some kind of drop-down menu or other small item — you don’t need a poster of something that’s only 100px to begin with!
I agree that OS Daily is usually reliable, but in this case there appear to be too many printer/system variables.

Sep 6, 2016 9:38 PM in response to Ferd IIby linda2009,Ferd II, I think those comments are directed at putting the Printer Queue on the Dock and dropping files onto it. That makes it print with defaults immediately.
The article was from 2014; maybe it doesn't apply anymore with El Capitan.
