Q: Burn DVD5 movie to DVD disc
Hello,
I have a movie file which is in format DVD5
My computer is MacBook Pro running Yosemite.
After I burn this movie to DVD disc I can't play it because it consists of many other files and they are not recognizible and etc.
I used converter HandBreake which converted movie into m4v format. After that it was not a problem to burn and watch movie.
My question: does Mac have any utility or trick that would allow burn DVD5 format directly to disc and play with no problem?
In other words: having DVD5 file should I always convert it first before burning?
Thanks
MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X El Capitan (10.11.6)

A properly structured DVD movie type disc has a name for the disc which is usually in uppercase only letters, inside that is the VIDEO_TS folder, and inside that are the files like the example listing I previously gave.
If you have burned the disc so it does not have a VIDEO_TS folder but does have the files then it will not be in the structure a normal DVD player is expecting.
Also try using the Burn program I linked to.
