Q: Editing Finalised DVD's

I have converted some old VHS tapes (my kids from 20 years ago) onto DVD with the intention of uploading the files and editing (iMovie) to get rid of the fuzzy stuff. Have created the DVD's using an LG VHS to DVD machine I have finalised them on the LG. Problem is that my iMac won't read any of them. The drive tries but eventually spits the DVD back out. All the DVD's work fine on my TV and blu-ray player. I am currently running iMac Mid 2011 with OSX El Capitan V: 10.11.6. Any ideas?

I requested this be relocated to a more appropriate forum that the one about computers pre-dating 2006.

If the drive outright rejects them there isn't too much you can do other than try a different optical drive.  You could try a different brand of media in case you are using cheap DVDs.
