Q: Songs being removed from iTunes playlists
I'm getting tired of finding songs that are still in my iTunes folder but have been removed from my playlists. I don't understand why this is happening but it's getting very annoying.
Recently I was making a CD for my grandson from soundtracks of his favorite movies I have in my iTunes library when I noticed one song wasn't listed under my songs. I then checked the playlist it was suppose to be (3 different ones) and it wasn't in any of them. I then looked for the folder in my iTunes music folder and it was still there. Now this is a song not purchased from iTunes but one I added myself from a disc. Why would this song be available and still on my iPad and iPod but removed from my playlists on iTunes?

From your tag line, I assume you are using Windows XP and therefor probably an old version of iTunes. If you can't update to the newest version of iTunes, either way, these may be workarounds:
iTunes 11 for Windows: Save a copy of your playlists
iTunes 12 for Windows: Save a copy of your playlists
That would allow you to export & import you playlists anytime you wish (although you shouldn't have to). Also, by any chance, are you using Apple Music or iCloud Music Library? Those could have something to do with your problem.
