Q: Would a 85w Magsafe power adapter hurt my MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2010)
Hello everyone!
I have a MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2010, 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo).
Well after years of abuse, the skinnier chord (that plugs to the Macbook) has started to tear. I tried to slip some shrink wrap over it to secure it and make it last a little longer, but now I find myself wiggling the chord around to get it to start charging.
Anyways, I found an after-market company on Amazon called Supsun making them (link listed below) and recently purchased one. It says it'll work with my Macbook, but I didn't even think to check what wattage mine uses and after looking it up I found out mine originally uses a 60w.
Will this Supsun 85w Magsafe power adapter hurt my mid 2010 13 inch Macbook in anyway?
Thank you in advance for any feedback!

If it was a genuine MagSafe the wattage would not matter (as long as it was equal to or greater) but I don't know the adaptor you bought so can't give a definitive answer to your question.
