Q: Wifi on but green light on Airport is not

I have and Airport Extreme. WiFi is working, but the green light is not lite. If I unplug or hit the reset button, it flashes amber but then goes dark. I ran a diagnostic and everything it said, is done, i.e. use a unique name, use WPA2, connects automatically, etc. Why won't the green light come on? Does it matter since wi fi is on?

The green LED has likely failed. As long as everything else is working OK, you can ignore the "issue".

However, if the AirPort is 4-5 years old, it might be time to start thinking about a replacement.....since the average useful life of the AirPort is about 4-5 years.

Thank you. Only 3 years old, but now I know to expect to replace in a year or so.
