Q: El Capitan Calendar not syncing with Google calendar

Good afternoon,

I have tried to sync my iCal with google calendar and I saw that I have to add the google account in the system preferences. The problem is that when I try to do that, my mac asks for detail of the account, then I choose what I would like to use with that account. When I press Done the computer blocks and does not menage to add this account.

It happened just after the update to El Capitan because before it used to work well.

Could somebody help me please?

Thanks

Giada

    Hi Glada Fari,

Looks like you are having issues adding your Google account to your Mac after the update to El Capitan? You can try adding your Google Account in the Mail app if the issue is occurring in Internet Accounts. If the account is added successfully in the Mail App, you can then adjust the specific sync services you wish to enable within the Internet Accounts of the System Preferences. If you need some quick steps to add the account in the Mail app, please follow the links below.

    Use Mail on your Mac

OS X El Capitan: Internet Accounts preferences

This should allow you to set up your Google calendar as you wish. Thanks for using Apple Support Communities to post your question. Have a nice day.

    Hello JayB --

I just upgraded from Mountain Lion to El Capitan and I'm having the same problem. Mail is handling my Google email account just fine since the upgrade. Everything seemed to migrate over pretty well except for this. In preferences, Internet Accounts is already set up with my Google account to handle my Mail, Contacts, Calendar etc. Also, Calendar has my Google account added and enabled. I'm seeing my Google Calendar events on my iPad and my iPhone but not my MacBook since this upgrade. If I open up my list of calendars in Calendar on my MacBook I see my Google account listed in grey but there are no calendars listed underneath like there is with iCloud.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    William

It seems to be a bug. Try as I might, I could not make the google calendars appear.

It appears to be fixed on the Sierra GM.
