Q: iPhone Messages app incorrectly reports that messages are not being delivered

I send text messages with the Messages app on my iPhone.  I have never had a problem until recently.

Recently, all of my text messages are tagged with a red error message "Not Delivered".  But the recipient is in fact receiving these messages.

I would like a solution to this problem (if you have one).

Here are some extra details:

*  I recently made two changes to my iPhone 6, and I wonder if they are related to my problem:

    1.  Upgrade to iOS 9.3.5

    2.  Changed my cell number

* I have T-mobile and I have "wifi calling" enabled.  I typically connect using "wifi calling".

    Hi adaviding,

Looks like you are having some incorrect Messages notifications show up about your sent messages. Not too sure if the recent changes have anything to do with it but, I would check your Messages settings to verify all is in order there. You can also take a quick look at the link below. Although your messages are being sent, you can still follow the steps so the "not delivered" message can be remedied. You can also try a simple restart for your device.

Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

If you can‘t send or receive messages on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities to post your question. These steps should have your Messages app working as expected. Have a nice day.

    Thanks for using

The problem was that my phone settings had not been updated to the new phone number.  I thought this would be done automatically for me (by my carrier), but I needed to update Settings / Phone / My Number.
